new year new list

a lot of people set out and make rediculous new years resolutions, I choose to make new year reading lists
two years ago I set out with the goal to read a book a week. I didn't do it, but I did well for a little while...
I would like to try this again, I'm not sure how this will pan out with starting school again but I am going to give it a shot. I've decided that I'm not allowing myself to buy anymore books until I've made it through some of the ones I already have. I'm going to alternate between religion/spiritual studying books and pretty much sports books... I also want to dive into my photography books more too...

In one week I will be starting classes again. holy moses.
it leaves me speechless. I'm so anxious to get started.

I am so thankful for a new year. I was pretty over 2011. by like last february...

Starting Now

Tomorrow starts 21 days of change. I am changing my workout habits, eating habbits and free time habbits.
I am commiting to working out 6 days a week, on the 7th I am doing yoga.
I am going to be doing a mixture of running and weight training. I need to get a hold of my focus again.
I am cutting sugar out. If I know what I'm about to eat has sugar in it, not goin in my mouth.
No fast food. I'm sick of feeling like crap
I will be drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day.
I plan on doing this longer than the 21 days of course but its been said that if you do something consistantly for 21 days it becomes a habit. If I can make these small changes now it will change everything for me.
I am going to make time every night to read again. I have tons of amazing books but I just haven't been making enough time to read any of them.
I am also changing the way I spend my money. I want to go to Chicago this summer. The Sox are playing the Cubbies and I want to be there. I love the idea of Chicago. I also like the idea of being able to play with my money a little bit. I don't want to always have to stop and think, "Is this going to drain my account?"

I am making changes.

Some Sunday Afternoon Editing

I spent a good part of the day editing some pictures for a calendar I'm putting together. Some won't be used, just wanted to play with them a little...

I did it. I shot my first set of pictures completely in manual mode on Sunday.

Next step is figuring out how to make them less grainy, but hey I'm shootin in manual :)

Wants to try...

to learn to sew... I know, I know it sounds old school... But I wanna give it a try. There's a few projects I want to attempt- like making carriers for the light cans I have for photo shoots. Maybe even making a different camera bag? Gonna give it a shot.

There's only one problem... In the past when I have tried to use a sewing machine... it would break. Not even joking. So this time I would like to conquer this without breaking anything...

50 Photography Projects

Happy Valentines Day!

Feb 14, 2011

So I haven’t been all that dedicated to blogging on here. I am going to be changing that quite a bit. I want to incorporate some of my photography so I decided to start an (almost) year long photography project series. The idea came from a Lee Frost book, 50 Photo Projects. I am wanting to get a better understanding of using my camera and getting some fun new pictures. I think having a weekly project/goal will give something to be creative with and make me get out of my comfort zone. It will also give me an opportunity to blog each week (at least once). This way I will also figure out what lens I want to get. Every week I am going to read and used the ideas from the book to go out and take some pictures of something new.

This week I’m starting out with Architecture with Attitude.

The first thing I’m going to be looking for is a local place that I will be able to find some new and interesting shots. I’m thinking I will be mainly looking in downtown Billings or maybe even heading out to Laurel and trying to find some out there. I know that there should be some cool architecture downtown. Even if it isn’t that modern, there should be some cool opportunities. The hardest part with this is having daylight to shoot this. I work a 8-5 so I think these projects will be easier once the spring comes and the days get longer but in the mean-time hopefully I have some good light on weekends so I can do some cool shots. Although in the book he suggests that for this first project, a lot of buildings look best right after the sun goes down, so I may be in luck.
Off we go…

*Disclaimer- Amazon did not ask me to link to them nor did Lee Frost or his publisher ask me to suggest the book~ I just think its a good/fun project :)
